jamesbuf August 23, 2007 August 23, 2007 I glued the clamp part of my Tunze 6025 to the magnet base since one of the connector tabs had broken off. Now the main arm of the clamp broke off and I need to replace the whole clamp. Is there a substance that will safely dissolve the crazy glue? I know there are quite a few solvents out there, but since this piece is going back in my tank I figured it would be best to ask what would be safe. Thanks for any help.

You can use finger nail polish remover with acetone to remove super glue from your fingers. I would guess it should work for this application. It possibly could dissolve the plastic too. George
dandy7200 August 23, 2007 August 23, 2007 acetone geofloors beat me by 10 second..... acetone wont disolve the ABS on the mag mounts. It will take the shiny coating off of it however.
jamesbuf August 23, 2007 Author August 23, 2007 Thanks guys. I figured nail polish remover would work. I just wasn't sure it would be safe or not. I'll make sure to rinse it off well.
Grav August 23, 2007 August 23, 2007 I saw a bottle of something at BRK that is designed specifically (at least according to the lable) to disolve the stuff. Ask John when he gets back
