I found a large piece of foam board at Giant - very dark blue on one side, yellow on the other. I stuck some little bits of velcro to the tank, and some little bits of velcro to the piece of board. My back is basically black, until I want to remove the foam. Which is more often than I expected.

I covered foam board with some fabric. Simple to make and simple to replace.

I'm a big fan of the rubberized material for a background because it stays on there well and it is easy to remove. Also cost effective.
