They need much smaller food - particularly phyto - when small. When clams reach ~ 2" their main source of food becoming photosynthesis, with just small amount of food consumption attributed to filter feeding. So your clam does not need to be target fed. As a matter of fact it can be even harmful in big amount, with too big of pieces of food or moving too much as it stresses clam and slowes growth.

flowerseller March 26, 2007 March 26, 2007 Personally, Besides strong illumunation, I've found more 03 (blue light) and good water quality do wonders. I basically only feed my tank flake food. I believe as the fish eat, chew, spit out and re eat, they breaK it down to a perfect size for filter type feeders with out all the excess binders in frozen.

Want to have some fun while learning a bunch about both sides of the UV issue? Start a thread asking if UV is good or not. You really will hear a lot of good info.
