What were the outcomes of using it, good or bad? Thanks, Ali on reefkeeping magazine randy has a convenient dosing calculator for dosing the first time and for daily dosing subsequently. it depends on the size tank and corals. i bought the dowflake at a hardware store on 12th and monroe st, n.e. in dc. i bought the magflake at the home depot on rhode island ave. my calcium went from 220 to 450ppm with one dosing. i have only been using it for a week but so far my alk and cal has been more stable then what i was using before.
YBeNormal February 15, 2007 February 15, 2007 Everything you wanted to know about Randy's two-part but were afraid to ask (including dosing instructions): http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php Where to find DowFlake locally: http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?show...amp;hl=dowflake Virginia Contractors Supply had dozens of pallets of DowFlake when I was there a couple of weeks ago. I doubt that they have sold it all. MAG Flake seems to be harder to find but I did notice that the Home Depot on Liberia in Manassas had a full pallet of it just before the ice storm. Lots of people use this stuff. Follow directions in the first article and you should have no problems.
