Gatortailale March 3, 2024 March 3, 2024 Bought a new 65 RR tank late last year and started cycling end of November. Decided to separate seahorse system from main display system so I could increase temp in main system from 72-73 for seahorse up to 76-77. Thus to my wife's delight I have another aquarium in the house. Started cycling end of November and eye-retina issue forced me to go slow and cycle more. Here is the progress of moving some gorgonian and seahorses from old tank to new one; as well as a few additions. Got few more gorgs to epoxy in but things difficult to see under water with 1 eye & other with partial gas bubble to help heal retina tear repairs. Added flat marco rock last week to hold tree sponge. Magnetic Aquarocks to hold frags on tank walls.
zoozilla March 3, 2024 March 3, 2024 (edited) Looking good, Craig. This will fill-in nicely. Edited March 3, 2024 by zoozilla
Gatortailale April 23, 2024 Author April 23, 2024 Just ordered a set of lids for my Aqueon 65 reef ready tank from https://www.clearviewlids.com/ Getting their new to be rolled out modular lid design. This new design will let you swap out pieces in the future in your equipment needs change. Saves from having to get an entire new lid - meaning that say I want to swap out light mounts in future. Adam at ClearView Lids can create a new back piece to swap out. I'll have to post pictures once they are built and delivered. And another great thing is they are a local small business based in Virginia.
Gatortailale July 29, 2024 Author July 29, 2024 Latest updates. Got a set of Artfully Acrylic/Clear View Lids custom made for lights and other cutout needs. Their latest design with modular frame parts (allowing you to swap pieces if future upgrades dictate a change to lids - meaning wouldn't have to buy entire new lid).
DaJMasta July 30, 2024 July 30, 2024 What are you feeding the tank? Seems to be working for those NPS gorgonians.

Seems to be working for those NPS gorgonians. 2-3 times a day seahorses get PE mysis and/or mini mysis. Broadcast feed Reef Nutrition phyto, oyster feast, and R.O.E. once or twice a week. Also weekly splash of reef-roids. Radion Gen 6 xr-15 pro for lights. Water temp 70.5-71.5
DaJMasta July 30, 2024 July 30, 2024 So not actually too much since the gorgonians probably can't eat the mysis - though maybe the fines are contributing. I wonder if the lower temperature helps them.
sigel7 July 30, 2024 July 30, 2024 Nice. Where did you order your houses from? How hard was it to train them to come to the feeder? I set up a macro algae seahorse tank and ordered Juvenals from Alyss"s and just ordered the feeding station yesterday. As soon as they see the baster they know it's feeding time.
Gatortailale July 31, 2024 Author July 31, 2024 It probably took 2-3 weeks for the horses to get used to feeding at the station. I got my seahorses from Alyssa.
