hey can i put this in my tank?

Its a DIY project.. It looks to be aluminum? It would REALLY MAKE this project MUCH MUCH more easy if I could. I did read about someone somewhere putting a clear coating over copper once over a container that held saltwater.. but anyhow.. anyone know ?

 

 

EDIT: oh to clarify this container would be pumping into my sump... its not like its in the display portion.

LOL.. guess it was a bit cryptic... It is container that is going to hold water then slowly pump into my sump... the container is made of aluminum. Since aluminum does not rust. I wated to see if the water would harm the animal life.

Sorry man, find a differant container. Only reef safe metal is Ti or 316 Stainless. Don't risk coating it. It may not rust but will corrode and leach unsafe levels of Al into your system killing inverts and making all that beautiful live rock you have useless.
