I would like to thank Nancy at REED Mariculture Inc for the $100.00 gift Ecard i won at the WAMAS 2022 (virtual annual meeting). I made my order today and could not be happier with the products I chose, easy to use website and ordering process. Wish I saw the SWAG section first but will visit the site again and pickup some SWAG next time!
Thanks again!

wow Tom, glad all is working fine. I feel for you with the pain and all. My wife had aortic stenosis and they had planned to put in a homograft but did not have the right size so the back up was a mechanical valve. That was 15 years ago!
Hope you have a speedy recovery.

I use the mj1200 on mine. I would remove the wiper and just plug the hole. Mine started leaking after awhile and was a pain to deal with. I have not changed bulbs yet going on a year with bulb.

Try some red and blue legged hermits. Check your water are you using RODI?
-
how about a small piece of solid black plactic or acrylic cut to size and doulble sided velcro on the edge, that way you can just remove and do any changes and cover back up

My heaters fire even in summer no canopy so I think I'll be just fine. What size tank do you have sir?

on frozen slabs of food i cut them into small cubes and put them in a tupperware or ziplock container with lid and just keep them in the freezer. i use a serated knife, cuts like butter

What intensity are you running your LEDs? Did you acclimate the corals to grow under the LEDs. I would also look into getting a uv sterilizer.
-
i have mine going into a sock and the hose is 5-6 inches below the water line. you can add a gate valve or ball valve on the output of the return into the sump and adjust the flow too.
-
i would start turning up the lights intensity.
-
Yeah that funny! Did not get to edit it in time

i run mine about 15' from the water line and use the program i got from RC ReefBreeders site. Mine peaks at 85% (blue) 65% (white) for 3 hours using 3 IT 2060 on my 220gallon tank then ramps back down. I am getting awesome growth from mid tank and up . i have zero algae growth in the DT, i also run bio-pellets and UV sterilizer

if your rock has been soaking it should be soft enough to use a masonary bit with a regular drill vs a hammer drill. if the rock is dry then a hammer drill would be needed.

i catch grass shrimp for bait down in solomons (southern Maryland) every time i bring the net up there are humdreds of copepods running around while i pick out the grass shrimp. never found the time to collect them as i am eager to fish. maybe i'll put a trap or filter like what reefs2 go does when they transport/sell them and collect them later. i'll try that tonight

brings back memories for me, i slid my tank down the stairs too using 3/4 plywood instead of 2x4 and used a winch from my truck. i was curious to see how you were going to do it. looking forward to the build!
