  1. Going to have the say the storm setting is a little unnerving the fist time it kicks in, I thought my light broke haha
  2. I just upgraded to the g3n 3 chips last night... beyond worth it. The UV leds are outstanding. I've seen plenty cheaper acceptable led fixtures, ones that I would have picked up on a much smaller budget years ago, but if you have the extra cash... HOLY H-E-double hockey sticks. The programmability is just astounding. I've been playing with it for like 2 hours ago, I'm supposed to be writing papers for my grad classes... *face palm*
  3. Be careful they can pretty well auto regulate themselves for the amount of light the want, they might decide to wander if you screw around with the light too much
  4. I have cree 1watt leds and mean well drivers I bought 2 years ago and never used. I want to wire them up in runs of 10 or 12. I have the drivers, the leds, the heat sinks, the wiring 20# I think, paste, and the drivers are the pwm kind. What do I need to make them functional. A dimming set up would be nice but if it's expensive full on constantly would be fine. Thanks in advance
  5. There are a lot of people I have to thank and acknowledge when I get a min to write up everyone but here's a day old pic
  6. As of today I have 2 black ocellaris( 1 misbar) and one orange, blue damsel, 4 rbta and one gbta
  7. its an IM 30, so year pretty shallow. I just pulled the trigger on the gen 3 regular upgrade
  8. Well its 150 for the standard upgrade and 250 for the pro upgrade
  9. I wanna retro my gen two is the extra 100$ for the pro worth it?
  10. Now if I only had the space... p.s. great write up
  11. Super off the wall thought (also thanks for the reply to my threads about anems) sicne eveyone else has covered all the normal avenues. I've been reading a lot about exotic anems and the shady practice of dye jobbing them. From what I've been seeing is if the tentacles and base have a pretty uniform color (apparently there should be some pretty natural speckling and other striations in natural anems) they could be a dye job anem? Reason I'm asking is because I'm planning on ordering from the same place you got yours. Seems super unlikely but I figured I'd ask. Best of luck I'd hate to see such an awesome anem die. Hope all gets better
  12. Woah coral collection looks awesome but $400 anems are a bit out of my league atm.
  13. Welcome!! Thats a pretty neat tank, what are you using for lighting?
  14. I'm looking for rarer and more uncommon morphs of anems but I'm a bit hesitant to buy from "non big name" vendors such a liveaquaria and blue zoo. I've not really seen uncommon morphs at LFS's
  15. It's a glass top tank with a guarded overflow all in one tank. Thanks for all the great advice guys!!
  16. Wow this thread wandered off. Lots of good info though. I more specifically was thinking of vendors who did a reasonable amount of obs before floor stocking fish. I remember the days of receiving fish directly into sales tanks and selling them asap. Though knowing full blown we service out there is really cool! Once I've cleared out student loans and can afford to spend 100s$ on fish that is an awesome option to know exist. For now im looking for captive bread ocellaris that have been in a system long enough to know theyre eating and not lethargic and that doesnt seem harf to find these days. Im really glad to see that
  17. The u mm questionable sea save used to have a system in the back consisting of super small micron filter systems + UV in a number of tanks they used to hold their fish in the system for a week or more before moving them to the sales floor
