Ya, there are heavy elements that do not end up going into the tank and settle at the bottom of the stirrer. I have to clean it out about every 3 months or so. Bruce

I have always been very nervous about adding kalk as part of your top off scheme. The chances for overdose are just too high. I think the best was not to have an overdose is to avoid this practice in the first place. I think the kalk should be added in an overflow style system using a dosing pump. No sir. This method adds the only things I put in the tank besides food. Kalkwasser, the calcium reactor, and the magnesium. Bruce
