Inspecting the trim a bit more, I believe the repair may only be for Aesthetic reasons. But, I could be wrong. The silicone on the glass seems to be intact and there does not seem to be any leaks. Does a cracked trim = a busted tank with continued normal use?
I've read somewhere that the trim is mainly used for decorative and protective reasons (So you don't accidentally chip the corner and cut yourself). Not really to provide overall strength to the tank. Is this true?
Can I just fix the crack with more aquarium grade silicone, Weld On, Two Part Epoxy, Fiberglass etc? If possible, I want to repair it in such a way that it does not look too obvious.
