    * There is more information on the For Sale board, search under my name. Mods: Sorry I can't post on the correct place, but I am no longer a paid member of WAMAS.

  3. I kept it in vinegar for some time then shaved off the grove to make it smooth, I then cleaned the pump and chamber where impeller goes really well with vinegar. I made sure there are no groves/paticales that are sticking out which will rub against the magnet. I put everything back and it started running, no noise or anything. So far it's been running since Saturday afternoon and no issues.
Same issue here vinegar wasn't the solution for me. Trying to track a new impeller with no luck :(
  4. Does anyone have weights I can borrow for this weekend for diving class?? I can offer some zoa frags for rental fees. I work a 24hour shift tomorrow, so if I could pick them up tonight it'd be appreciated. Please let me know. Thanks.
Back in town... LMK if you need additional weight, your bouyant self will probably take Brian's and mine and probably need us tugging down :)
  5. In the list I found:

    5_461.jpg

The Banggai cardinal fish's popularity as a pet for the home aquarium has landed it on the 2007 IUCN Red List.

In the wild, the striped fish is only found in the Banggai Archipelago off Indonesia.

Human pressures such as the aquarium trade are the main reason for the fish's decline, with habitat loss and climate change also posing major threats.

Fish stocks are in free-fall all over the world, both from overfishing and the aquarium trade. Scientists estimate current extinction rates are at least a hundred to a thousand times higher than natural rates.

Hey Rik if you want I'll stop by tonight to remove your corals and house them in my tank until power settles again. Can't assure you'll get them back as big as you give them to me but at least they won't die  ... seriously just LMK.
  7. We picked up the AquaPod Tuesday from Aquarium One. Long story short they didn't have a 12G AP w/70W MH at the raffle as promissed and we all came later to find out that the 12G AP w/70W MH had been discontinued :(. The owner said to give him a little bit of time to find one; he called me on Monday to tell me that he had no success locating one for Gio and that instead he would get me on Tuesday a 24G AP w/150W MH to substitute the discontinued one. Needless to say I didn't tell Gio until we went to pick it up and he was very excited that he had double the capacity for his project tank.

Once again, Thanks to A1 for making a happy kid even happier :)

    Dad

PS. Mods we need a title change to reflect the new system capacity, thanks guys.

Isn't "drinking and drilling"dangerous? How about I bring the tank out there and buy you some beer to drink after it's done? After this Saturday I might not be able to get out there though.

Where does he references D R I N K I N G during his post? With answers like that no wonder no one has volunteered to drill it for you. If you were joking maybe throwing a smiley behind the intended funny comment will allow people to get it as a joke, no smiley = being serious about. My .02
  9. Refractometers/RO/DI set up wairing for me in Gaithersburg Md.

Any one in any of these areas make trips into Columbia, Laurel, Baltimore, Rockville would be willing to help me out by picking up for me?

I could pickup the Refrac but I'm in Gaithersburg now days. LMK.
  10. I can have it done for a 1/2 your chalices, my pick... what happened with that big-shot job you had going with PlayGirl photo shoots?

  11. Forrest - you can get a strawberry container and place it inside on a corner of the tank and place a rock on top so it doesn't slide around the tank or you can get a breeding mesh container used for housing the fry and place it really close on the top of the tank. PETCO/PETSMART has it for about $3-5

  12. Take the airline from your skimmer air intake and run it outside the closest window or an air pump with the intake ouside the window into the tank. The outside air will mix with the existing CO2 in the tank and help stabilize our PH. I was having this problem in the past and after talking with Dan and following his recommendation my problem was solve within 3 days of doing this. Also havng the line connected to my skimmer increased my naD production.

  13. If you are keeping a tank like that with T5s, then that is the way I am going.

I have a 55G, would you say the 4 bulb T5 would work and which bulb would you drop from your set up to adjust to a 4 bulb?

    Thanks,

Honestly I would drop the Super Actinic as the Blue+ would be suficient. Since then I'm running:

5X54W T5 Retro Kits Back to Front:

    -1 Giesemann AquaBlue+

    -1 ATI Blue+

    -1 Giesemann 6000K Midday Sun

    -1 ATI Blue+

    -1 ATI Blue+

And I'm happy, also I'll be swapping the 6K for UV Lighting AquaSun and possibly adding a 6 bulb an ATI Pro Color.

    For yours I would do:

4X54W T5 Retro Kits Back to Front:

    -1 Giesemann AquaBlue+ or 1 ATI 12K AquaBlue Special

    -1 ATI Blue+

    -1 UV Lighting AquaSun

    -1 ATI Blue+

1st Ballast to fire the Blue+'s (for dusk and dawn - 12pm to 11pm) and the second Ballast to fire the AquaSun and the 12K AquaBlue Special (for regular daylight - 1245pm to 1015pm) I'm in Montgomery County if you want to stop by and see it for yourself.

  14. Thanks for the advice. The Sunlight Supplies TEKs seem to be in my price range, excpet they do not include bulbs. There is a 4 bulb 54 watt (20,000 lumens) system, would that limit the types of Corals I can keep?
I use a 5X54W T5 Retro's on a 120G and I keep everything from Softies, LPS, SPS, Clams and whatever else you can imagine. Click on my signature tag and see what my tank looks like.
  15. Holly I'm glad your family and home are safe. Do you care sharing brand, age and condition of the heater? I would like to know. Not to HiJack but I am starting a new thread to collect data and hopefully it will be pinned for future reference.
