my tubbs turned pink in my tank after a few years. Still have the purple polyps just pink. I got it as a 1 inch frag and now its 7 inches around! The tubbs and the so called bird of paradise are the same thing IMO just different names. Its still a birds nest

Anyone have a extra generator just in case near gainesville?
-
Let me guess it was either purple or blue?
-
It must be wild caught. They seems to lose their colors once they are shipped and its usually a hit or miss if they regain color IMO
-
Hope you feel better John!

I have one but i dont use it because of them tripping all the time. Guess its time to plug it in!

So i went to clean out my overflows last night and got a huge shock. Turn off everything and turned them on one by one and its was my stealth heater! I could feel the electricity throw the pvc return pipes. What a peice of junk. This thing was my backup heater in case my main heater failed and wasnt even 2 years old. There is no way that my fish and corals couldnt be affect by this. Anyways just wanted to rant

Is that big bubbles in the silicone? From the pic it looks alittle green on one of the sides

I put all my rock and corals in a tub and drained the water. Took sand out and put everything back in the tank. The rock shed for a few weeks so I siphoned off the sludge every other day. no loses

When I switched tanks I put all new water and sand in with established rock and waited 4 weeks and the tank never cycled. I have seen people switch everything at once but its a hit or miss. I would wait 3 -4 weeks if i did it again

I use Dainichi pellet with cylopeeze mixed with formula 1 & 2
-
I have but they eventually died. I can say that it slowed it down some but I waited too long to treat.

My Ph was reading 8.08 on a bad probe this morning so i am headed in the right direction. I am ordering a probe to see how if this reading can be correct but it is reading .48 higher since i extended the tubing outside so I am pretty happy.
-
Does anyone know what it means when a probe doesnt calibrate? Is it still close to reading correct or is it usually way off? I guess it can go either way. Im going to replace it but wondering how close it could be. It seems to be in the ballpark of reading correctly but not 100% accurate
-
Ok so I calibrated the ph probe and it seems that the probe needs to be replaced because it wouldnt calibrate. But I ran my air line from my skimmer outside and it went from 7.9 to 8.1 in about two hours. I think the ph probe is reading pretty close but I need a new probe. Anyone have a new one they arent going to use anymore?
-
Guess I need to go grab some tubing and test it out.
-
There is your problem. I had considered trying to run the airline of my skimmer to the outside. Not sure if it would help, but you definatly need fresh air circulation in there.
Do you think that will be enough?

i have a gas water heater in my fish room next to my tank
-
I will calibrate it tonight and go from there. Thanks for the info

Ok so I have lately been having a issue with keeping my PH up at night. During the day it sits at 7.8 (which IMO is low for the day) And its 7.5-7.6 at night. I dose kalk through a kalk reactor twice a day one in the morning one at night and even when i recharge the kalk the ph doesnt go any higher. What can i do to fix this? I have seen a mild STN.
