  1. No can do 2/24 ... but don't stop on account of one. Next week after that is good for me though.

Sounds like we will have a nice crowd. I will wait to see what date works best for everyone.

Here is the list so far:

    1. jwildman

    2. six-line

    3. CapHillReef

    4. bludevil12

    5. modelrr

    6. smarsh97

    7. scott711

    8. zoozilla

    9. inedukated

    10. seantadez

If I change the date to the 24th, does that work for everyone?

Also, I have been getting a lot of PMs. Just for clarification. I am NOT selling every zoa. Just about 80% of them. I am not getting out of the hobby either. Just downsizing. ;)

  2. interested :)

I was thinking about selling most of my zoanthids and also have a frag fest the same day. I will have frags and colonies for sale. I will also have free frags! I have 50+ morphs! We can also make this a frag swap as well. I wanted to have it this Saturday afternoon (2/17). Just wanted to know if anyone would be interested in coming by. If I have enough people. Then we will pick a time slot for the event.

Post here if you are intersted!

  3. 10. Yes

    9. no - not yet :)

    10. You notice the algae in the tank

  4. Would also suggest Super Petz, which is about 5 minutes from Wally's. Between the both of them they will have the best selection of tanks to actually see. Roozen's also has a number of big tanks, no idea if they are competive in their pricing.

    John

Wally's seems to have the cheapest tank prices.

  5. I have a 7095 controller with 3 @ 6100's in my 180. You cannot do 4 on and 5 off and 4 on. I will get the docs and get details on the intervals. Basically you can switch from unit to unit. And while each unit is running is goes from A speed to B Speed for X seconds, then switches to the next unit. The unit that are not going up and down speedwise, the other 2 units run at the lower setting. Would be happy to show you or discuss in person, in the meantime I will dig out my manual and post the different setting. By the way the single unit controllers are less capable of doing different intervals.

PS. I was at Atlantis Aquarium down in Richmond the other day and was told that the nano steams has a big waiting list. The controllable nano will be out in the summer I think. I would suggest you get on a waiting list sooner than later to get some. Price is arouns $220 per controllable streams.

Current version of the Nano stream is NOT controllable at all.

There is a version that should be controllable due out shortly, but it's not a on/off controllability, but a variation on how "wide open" it is.

  6. I also bought one, don't remember the size, think 5500 or so. But it is enough to run, pumps, tunzes, heaters and actinic with room to spare. One tank for 8 hours. It is noisy, but like Chip said ... screw em. I got mine at Costco for about $350 give or take.

    John

Cool, thanks for the info everyone

Only been in the house just over a year, so don't really know the neighbours yet, not that that's a reason to upset them, but i'm sure they'd be ok if they had some power from it.

Little worried about you powering your dungeon Chip, do you have an electric Iron Maiden or Thumbscrews your not telling us about?

    My bad CBASHAW , i have the 500w heater, and i have 4 X 400w MH's with actinics

Having spare would be great, we could hook up a freezer, that would save a ton of aggro

    Thanks for the Info

    Anton

  7. Can't agree more .. get a RO/DI unit, it will make life easier and reduce a number of problems you will have with city water

Get an RO/DI unit. It's a little expensive, but once you make about 20-30 gallons of water, you start to realize how much you'll save in the long run, and it only gets better the more you use it.

I used to use tap water, and very seldom did water changes because I was afraid of all the chemicals in the water....but now that I have RO/DI, I change a small amount (5gal) twice a week, and I've seen tremendous benefits. Everything looks clearer and fish and corals look happier.

  8. I have to say I am sick and tired of people dropping sh*tbombs on people or taking pot shots at people. If you have a problem with someone or their actions have the guts to talk to them directly and resolve the issue in private. If then the issue does not get resolved then maybe take further. Most if not all of the people on this board are honorable and will do the right thing.

It takes absolutely no courage to just drop a nasty-gram on this board and it is not fair to the target or for other people on the boards. I am really sick of it and I dont want to read them.

Good to see he actually delivers on the frags he sells for some people (myself not included).

  9. They dont look like flatworms to me, or at like that ones that I had. If you look at the base of the zoo, you will see a number of them. They are a rusty brown color.

    Flatworm pics

If you do get them, I tried a number of remedies, but finally had to go the flatworm exit route. I have a post somewhere around here :).

    Good Luck,

    John

are these them? (see pics in gallery).

i don't understand how i'm just now seeing them. i transferred over to the new tank (90) it was brand new. i didn't add any livestock since the 11th, and i never saw whatever this is in my old tank. now they are very abundant after 2 days in the new tank. i'm very confused.

    HELP!?

pics are in my gallery... if someone could post them here, that would be great.

  10. Dave,

About how much is a pretty penny :). Assuming is is high $100's or 4 digits (shiver). What is your next best choice?

    Thanks,

    John

Get the AC III Pro and get the PX1000 expansion unit....

It can do everything you want... get 3 DC8s (2 for the reef, and 1 for the FO)...

Add a homemade switch and have mositure control and float swtiches... all with a good UI... web browser gives you everything you need.

Yeah it's going to set you back a pretty penny, but it'll be worth it in the long run.

    Dave

  11. I subscribed to it last week and got my first copy late last week. It is a very good read. Well written, good subjects. Highly recommend this journal.

    John

I got a copy as well. Very good read.

  12. Not sure, don't know your hood dimensions. Here is a link for the luminarcs. BRK has then installed if you want to see them and measure them.

    John

Hmmm... that sounds indeed like a very large difference. Can these things be put into an existing canopy?

  13. John can give you the exact numbers, but the number was like 50% higher with Luminarcs than without.

    John

Ask John at BRK. I remember him telling me about some PAR readings he took before and after he added lumenarcs to his system. They made a huge difference according to him.
