  1. Here's a pic of the 2nd floor from the basement (1st floor). I'm guessing the 3rd floor is build the same way with the boards going from front to back of the house. edit: need to re-upload pic
  2. Get a stud finder w/deep scan capability. Carpet has no impact then. Go visit the county. They have the construction plans for all housing built in the area. You will know much more detail about your house than you ever wanted to know. s Thanks for the tip. I may just go buy a stud finder. Ok, last stupid question... How can I determine the layout of the floor joist and I beam by finding the studs?
  3. Yes, there's an underground basement, but the tank will be on the third floor.
  4. My floor is completely carpetted. ???
  5. How can I figure out which directin the floor joist and I beam are going?
  6. You're right... I think the ER (CS6-1) uses a 1 1/4" so it should be about $20 shipped.
  7. Thanks Howard. I'll give them a call... D33rex, I've only found ball valves at HD and Lowes. I'm looking for a gate valve for my euroreef skimmer.
  8. I'm not too far from Fisher's, but unfortunately I've already checked and they dont carry any gatevalves. If I have to order one, its going to cost about $25 ($7-8 in shipping). Thx
  9. lol. I just re-read your post and you asked about trials and not trails! oopps.
  10. Does anyone know of a local store that sells gate valves? Thx.
  11. If you like off-road and are looking for a challenge, check out Foutainhead in VA. Check out this site: http://www.mtbr.com/trails/
  12. Just wanted to give an update in case anyone cares... I just received the remainder of my original weight. I weighed the rocks and it came to 16.5lbs. Thanks again!
  13. Haven't really had a chance to look around, but the only place I recall off the top of my head that carries Oceanic salt is Super Petz. Does anyone know who sells it cheaper?
  14. Dave, There's definately no need for an apology. I really appreciate you for putting all this together and for taking care of my little incident. When you get in the reefer rocks, let us know how they look compared to hirocks stuff. Thanks again!
  15. Dave, Thanks for doing the work... clp]] BTW - Here's a pic of my hirocks. I re-weighed it again today... and sure enough, only 44lbs. Here's a pic of everything I was sent. "Our Best" 60lbs Large
  16. I got 8 pieces: 1. 9L x 6w x 8h (my largest) 2. 5 x 7 x 4 3. 3.5 x 5.5 x 7 4. 4 x 6.5 x 7 5. 4 x 4 x 5 6. 4 x 5 x 1.5 7. 5 x 5 x 5 8. 5 x 3 x 5 The largest piece is pretty nice. Has many holes and pores. The others are small, pretty much solid rocks. It looks very similar to the ones pictured on ebay as plain rocks. I also noticed that they are out of "our best" rocks on their site. Maybe I got the last bit of rocks???
  17. Xeon, I came home and found the box on my front step. I weighed the whole box and only got 44lbs. wndr I used two different scales to verify. Other than that, the rock looks pretty good. btw - I ordered the 60lbs large best rocks.
  18. Well, I was really looking forward to going to this workshop and meeting some of you... but it looks like I have to goto NY that weekend! :(

    Skimmer

Just make sure if you're purchasing a ER, that you're buying from a authorized seller or else ER will not warranty their product. Also, I believe ER is switching to Dolphin pumps... but maybe only for their larger models.
