  1. The project is somewhat slow moving but moving along all the same. The Cycle has officially started and couldn't be more excited. Decided to go with dry sand and dry rock to try and keep all pests and nuisance at bay. Never done it before so am very interested on how it goes. Decided to go with the Vectra S1 as my return pump and I'm already super happy with it...but then again...it's only been a couple days. Will throw in a couple MP 40's and figure out what to put on the back wall to get some constant forward movement...maybe a Tunze?? have also decided to change up my Lighting scheme and dabble in the T5 world since i would really like to work on my SPS "green Thumb". So I'll probably go with a dimmable ATI with some LED strips. Per usual anybody up for throwin' in their 2 cents is very much welcome. Loved splittin' up the scape by the way YHSublime!
  2. Hey how's it going!? Yes, so the right side has two good sized plates, one stacked on the other... Left side has that big round sloping slab... And random rock just as kick stands. Haha. Def can be moved around. Found the tank in Philly! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  3. The excuse to the significant other was "consolidation"..."yeah babe...we have to consolidate the 30 gallon and the 50 gallon into one!"...."those poor creatures need the room to swim"..."do it for the kids"... You guys know how it is;) Anyways I found a great deal on R2R on this brand spankin new Waterbox 135.4 and once i saw it in person...It had to be mine. My primary goals for this tank are to finally dabble into the SPS realm along with continuing my destructive Torch coral passion along with just about every other Euphyllia family member. Will probably keep an decent sized anemone and maybe a carpet as well...depends on my fish selection of course but I have been very lucky with my carpets so far so will keep the fingers crossed. When it comes to fish, Would love to keep a few angels and wrasses...hopefully keep the peace and harmony. I'd like to keep most of my gear Ecotech related due to just trying to stream line any adjustments on the same platform. As always any suggestions or critiques are perfectly welcome. This forum has been soooo good to me so I'm keepin my trust with ya'll!! Thanks Everyone!
  4. Looks good!! How do you like that trigger system cube???
  5. Def +1 on Supreme Reef and working with Ben! He always makes himself available and has stuff that none of our other shops around here have. Bought quite a few pieces from him already and they are super hardy and flourishing. Check him out. Yeah he's still working on building up but he's treating it like he should... A good responsible business he's passionate about.
  6. Well....I attempted to sell this tank and ended up not since there was no interest....and of course it has become this..... The bubble algae is a pain in the ass and i have to feed that carpet PLENTY of food and it has doubled in size in about a month and a half...Def can't keep my eyes off that carpet though...it's my pride a joy as of now until i have to move it to a bigger tank.
  7. According to the website...71" x 23.5" x 21.5"and it feels twice as heavy.... It's a big heavy mamma jamma!
  8. As the title states....every time i would go pick stuff up at one of our LFS, fellow reefers would always finish with the line...don't forget...always go bigger. Thought to myself...what for?? i like my 30's, 50's and 70's...it's all about the motion of the ocean right?? well I guess size does matter sometimes so saw one of our fellow Wamas members selling his Cadlights 165 and jumped on the opportunity because it was an amazing looking tank! So this is going to be a much slower build considering all the components involved of course and i want to make sure i do it right with reliable products. here are some pics i took today...I was able to score a REALLY good deal on a Sapphire 39 along with the 10g ATO by Trigger Systems. So that is all that's sitting under the tank at the moment. Plumbing is next i believe?? Any other tank i've had has always been either an ATO or pre-plumbed so should be fun figuring this out! As usual, any input or advice would be awesome!! He's as impatient as i am....
  9. Quick update one the Mama Dukes Tank... Running very well...still messin around with the lighting but the AI Hydra is working quite well. Only thing i really struggle with is getting the TUNZE 9012 Skimmer to stop leaking out bubbles into the return water. Aside from that...good stuff. Stock list is as follows as of right now -1 Designer Clown...ISO low maintenance mate;) -1 Lemon Peel Tang...only babysitting until she needs a bigger home :( -1 Yellow Watchman Goby + -1 Pistol Shrimp....This has been my favorite thing to watch in the tank. SOO Cool. -1 Golden Headed Sleeper Goby...PAIN IN THE ASS!!! throws sand EVERYWHERE!! -Skunk Shrimp -Feather Duster Coral: -Galaxea Coral...scares me a bit, which is why she sits all by her lonesome on the opposite side of the tank -Torch -Hammer -Elegance -GSP -Clove Polyps -Small Acan Haven't really been able to get to the store to get anything else in the last few months...but really been Jonsing to get out there again!! So far IC's AIO tank is the bomb!! no problems with it at all. As always any info/recommendations/questions are welcome!! Happy 4th ya'll!!!
  10. So mama dukes wanted a "pretty tank" in her house because she really like the colorful fishies and corals (WHO DOESN'T RIGHT!!???). So i hooked mama up with one of AA/IC's signature All in One 50 Gallons. Picked it up on their Tax Season discount and have to say I am very happy with the purchase so far. Hopefully plan on a few colorful fish since mama runs a daycare in her home so it will be great for the kiddos to watch em. Gear List so Far: AIO-50 Hydra 26 HD Tunze 9012 Maxspect 130 AutoAqua Micro ATO 30lbs of Real Reef Rock 20lbs of Fiji Pink AquaTop Submersible Titanium Heater 200w Tank has been up and running for exactly 1 week. 1 Round of Dr. T's down. 1 more coming. only been running the blues nice and low to get a good cycle (Thanks DCReefer1964 for that advice!). Stayed away from mixing rock types on this one. I think mixing the pukani and real reef in the Reefer 250 build has caused all sorts of "mood swings" with my parameters. the Micro ATO is awesome. Tunze working really well already. was pretty undecided on the aquascape as you can see in the pics but wanted to maximize front beach real estate while trying to keep some caves around. As always any questions/comments/suggestions are more than welcome everybody!!
  11. Yeah!! that's what i was thinking with the SPS!!! def trying to push keep the GSP in check...it's on it's own little island but have to push it a tad farther away from the tower there... THANKS!!!
  12. Update on my 250 build. It's been quite fun so far!! System is awesome....as long as you get the ATO to work...which rarely does. Pain in the Ass most of the time. will probably be my next fix on this system, especially since I feel like it was has been a main culprit to a lot random algae issues aside from good flow patterns. Both lights have been operational for about 2 weeks now and had to rearrange the torches since the lighting was much better now and they were placed higher before we started bleaching out a tad. But they are starting to get their color back gradually down on the sand bed where they seem A TON happier. Trying to save a little acan upfront there but other than that everything has gradually been flourishing tweaking here and there. Got rid of the Red Sea Nylon socks and dropped in the Felt socks and the tank took a turn for the best. Learned a major lesson about socks.....CHANGE THEM FREQUENTLY!!! but i'm still a rookie and i'm def a person that likes to learn the hard way but I DO LEARN!! Hopefully you guys enjoy. Any feed back is always awesome!!! Thanks Ladies n Gents!!
  13. Thanks sooo much for the info DCREEF!!!!!! Ok next thing on agenda....CUC recommendations....what to avoid what to make sure is in there..went through the green algae phase which has now moved on to the brown phase. Where do you ladies/gents usually do your CUC shopping?? Thanks!!
  14. The Doctor is in!!!! Good bacteria has been dropped in....20lbs more of rock are in....JBJ Titanium heater is in...1 more power head to go....1 more light to go....bigger life forms on the way!!! Still debating about the aqua scaping...possibly move the shelf higher?....bigger cave on the left side?....kinda like it as is....let me hear it ladies and gents.
  15. AAAAALRIGHTYY!!, Tank has been fully running for about 1 week. So I am missing a bit of rock...waiting on about 2/3 of my rock left but wanted to have SOMETHING in there rolling already so please don't grill me on the scaping...my interior design skills a tad better than that. So far overall experience with the tank....Awesome!! Extremely silent with the overflow design Red Sea has. As for current equipment... 1x - Radion xr15pro...(hooked up to it's RMS and a reeflink) 1x - MP10 20lbs - of Real Reef Rock 4th Gen... 1x - Octo 110 Space Saver Skimmer 40lbs - Pink Fiji Sand Eheim 2400 Return Pump Left to add is 1 more Radion...decided to go with 2 xr15's so spread them out rather than one xr30 1 More MP10 30-40lbs of rock Heaters Phosphate Reactor Yes....the wiring will be put in check. The Space Saver Skimmer depth is about juuuuuust about in line with the specs of the sump and skimmer needs. After i can finally add the last of the equipment....time to blow up some ammonia. then i might add some of those things that grow under water and the other things that breath under water as well. The inhabitants of the Nuvo have decided to flourish the last few weeks and i think it's because they see the Penthouse across the room and and are putting on a show to make it to the Big Red Sea Stage. ANY words of advice, warnings, past experiences would be greatly appreciated by the way!! Thanks y'all!!
  16. When I Bought The System...Skimmer Is An AquaOne....Does Really Well...Light Is An Early Generation AI Nano....Does Well But If You're Going To Want Some Good Growth In There....Don't Be Shy About Spending A Little More...It'll Be Worth It.
  17. Skimmer....reef octopus 110 Space Saver.... Lights...was going to go with Radion 30...but decided to go with 2 Radion 15 pros to get some better light distribution...just gotta go find a couple
  18. tank is wet!!! need about 6 more gallons to finish up and about 20-25lb more of rock to add....then on the break this bad boy in. will upload some pics very soon!! everything about building this thing has been as easy as building some Ikea furniture. VERY SIMPLE!!! Not too sure what is going to happen to the Nuvo??....eeerrrr not too sure yet. will def keep it on this forum though if sold. gotta keep it in the family!!!!!
  19. So I've read many of your guys and gals posts and have spent many a nights admiring your tanks and builds. I started with a Nuvo 30g last year that I picked up from Pizzaguy and love the trade. Living in a condo didn't want to go to large on a bigger tank so once I saw the Red Sea Reefer 250 I was intrigued and then I saw it set up at MACNA and was sold. So I'd like to include you all on this little journey and keep the good times Rollin!!
