  1. Can anyone tell me if the membership fees are reaccoring? And if so how do I cancel the membership
  2. I live inin the Winchester,va area, and although there are a couple of places that I could get live stock here, I have made Blue ribbon Koi my goto place, I have not had an issue with anything I have gotten from john..And no John did not pay me to say this..LOL
  3. Thats johns new fish and coral delivery service in practice..LOL
  4. yeah i actually had cheato in the fuge, but it seemed like I got more hair algae with that in there, and also seemed like the hair algae grew fast, I have in fact took what I could out today..
  5. OK my tank has been set up for aproximately 5 mos. now. I have a fairly good amount of hair algae.. 1. I know that eventually every tank will come across this. 2. I don't have a recent reading of my paramiters( I am planning on getting some different tests) what I would like to know.. I would rather try to control the hair algae by my nutrients since I think I read someplace that that is the most likely cause. which nutrients are the most common causes of hair algae?( I have read the phosphates and nitrates are the most common) If the above is true how do I control the phosohates? I understand nitrates is extracted mostly bt water changes. I have just done a water change and pulled as much of the algae off the rocks as I could.. I plan on trying to do a couple of water changes a week here and extract as much as I can by pulling it off the rock.. Since I have just done a water change, I am not sure I water to check my parameters as they may not be acurate(as far as the casue of the algae) PLEASE IF I AM WRONG WITH ANY OF THIS..DON'T BE AFRAID TO OFFER YOUR OPINION..that kinda why I am posting this.. I can say up untill about 2 weeks ago I was probably over feeding..although I never really had to many diatoms, and still really don't I have some but not much..But the diatoms really didn't start showing up untill the hair algae did.. Thanks all
  6. I have enheims now, but they are glass I can't see how the can claim they are shatter proof if they are glass.. I ws looking at the cobalts, but I certainly don't need them melting in my tank!! LOL sorry about the luck on that one..
  7. So I am seriously considering shatter heaters, such as the aqueon or cobalt..NOT because I have an issue, but to prevent an issue..I have enheim heaters right now.. So in your opinion whic shatter proof heater should I get?? which one do you use??
  8. Thats kinda of a freeky vid..Thank you all for the info!!! I will try some of it next time...It would have been much easier to scrape it off!! anyway, the frogspawn is doing fine, the one head that broke off was closed up for a couple of days but is begining to open again.. Thanks you ALL
  9. Where do you get the needle??I went to a pharmacey and they told me they don't sell neddles.
  10. All that maybe true, but what you had fail to read is that it is not on the ROCK, it was on the skelleton of thr frog spawn.
  11. Well, I didn't realize there was and aiptasia wand, and seeing as though that was the only thing that was said, if you don't know about it, then I am sure you can see where it looks as tohugh someone was cracking a joke.. anyway no matter, I tried my scroll saw that didn't work, the only other thing I could get right off after I have it out of the tank was HAMMER and Chissel..THAT didn't go to well broke a head off split it right down the whole stem...so never use a hammer and chissle!!!! I glued the pieces back together the best I could and got it back in the tank as soon as possible.. I would like to make a suggestion..When you answer threads try giving more than two word answers(to the ones that did give just a real short answer) I try to give as much detail of what I am taking about, You can't assume that the person knows what you are talking about... Anyway, Hope I didn't just kill the frogspawn.. Thank you agian.
  12. Well ok I guess i am just going to have to use something. I have a pair of utility scissors..abvisously with all the joking I am not going to get my questions answered..Thanks for those who gave at least some decent info..for those that are cracking jokes..well, that will come around on ya!!
  13. I supose maybe I could, I don't know, as I said this will be my first time..I have a scroll saw can I use that? I also have a couple hand saw, I need more detail information, I am sure a pic would be nice, but if I need to it yesterday, than I kinda need to know what i need to do post cut, a pic really isn't going do anything as far as that goes.
  14. I had actually thought about cutting it off..problem is I don't have anything to cut it with unless I can use like a hand saw or something like that. I don't have a big bone cutters..Maybe I better go grab some. I am sure it has already spread also, that is just an educated guess of course, however I am more worried about where it is on the base of the frogspawn, cause it's not on the rock.. So what exactly is the proceedure I should do for cutting it?? Do I need to dip it in anything after doing so?? or what.. It will be my first time doing it soo.. I need to detailed info guys..
  15. And oh by the way, I would rather not use chemicals, Now lemon jucie or something like that would be fine, but becasue its right at the base of the Frogspawn I would rather use a natural way to get rid of it..
