    Do you siphon out the rear compartments during water changes. They collect a ton of detrius.

    I agree with this. Granted i only have the 30. I do a biweekly water change and just added the mid size skimmer. That's it. I also use a turkey baster sometimes to hit random areas to make sure nothing has settled. I prefer that so i dont stir up to much at once. I also dont dose but let water changes take care of maintaining a happy tank for me. Im 50/50 sps and everything else.

    I agree with 8 bulb. And i think youll love t5s. If anyone is nearby id say check out their tank and bulb combo to get an idea what you like. I honestly love my dimmable sunpower. Favorite fixture by far.

    Tank was filled up last week. Last night i installed the tunze osmolator. Replaced the mesh that was in the screen top with less restrictive mesh. i filled it with water and rock from my 300. Everything seems happy thus far. I kept my 2 picasso clowns, my black blenny, yellow watchman, and green mandarin.     My 300 is in its final days so i picked ip a smaller, easier to manage tank yesterday. I will be transferring what corals i value most from my 300 and parting with the rest. Here are the details

    lfs fredericksburg

    in New to the Hobby

    hey all my tank is coming along well and I hope im not breaking any rules here. But im looking for people in the Fredericksburg area that know of any good LFS. I went to Deborgem pets which was a nice place and I liked the owner he was nice and does reef frags and snakes, mention the guy with the baby on his chest lol. Any who today I went to Chryssy's critters here off rt.3 and was not pleased, everything seemed dirty and algae infested, so if you have any stores you recommend or know of please let me know as im new and really excited to start growing my new tank.

    Ill be fragging my sps this weekend if you wanna stop by. In preparation of downsizing.

    From spotsy court house I will have to check out tiki corals myself. There is pets plus in staff or on route one that doubles as a uhaul place lol sometime they have good fish but that's about it..
