I need to mount 2 radions to a 36" wide rimless. 2 things: I don't want anything on the edges of the tank and 2. I can't hang from the ceiling, its probably 25 feet tall. So I need a bracket that would mount to the stand somehow. Any ideas or pics would be really appreciated or links for somewhere they sell them.

I'm using Api and red sea test kits. I use both kits with the same results.

I don't mean to hijack but I have a question. My tds reading coming in is 260 to 280 coming out is 1 to 2 at most. But when I mix my saltwater my nitrates are 10 ppm right off the bat. Any idea what would cause the high nitrates or what u could do to lower it.

I'm gonna re measure my van I really think it might fit. If it will I hopefully will be heading south Sunday night.

Well I haven't made it that far yet and probably spent 50 times the money. I'm on the right path now. It's nice to have some local help to get going that's for sure.

Wow. And they say it can't be done with hob.

It seems the apex is the clear choice and not that much more expensive. Especially considering everyone on here has been so helpful up to this point. Not like another forum I won't name.

Tour gettin out of my league now!! I'm a pizzaman.lol

The very brief description you get when reading about controllers does not go into any of this. Very informative. You can do a lot more then I New about.
-
So you can turn stuff on and off from the internet?? This is all new to me as you can tell.
-
That's some sound advice. With that said, what controller is the easiest to use. And which one? I was thinking the reefkeeper elite to start.

I am debating over and over on a controller or something else for the build. My question is, is a controller a necessity or a luxury? I know it displays temp and ph with controllable outlets. But I have radions so no need to control lights, dj switch for pumps etc. No calcium reactor but I will have dosing pumps for 2 part. So is one really necessary or not? Please help me decide and understand. I've never owned one.

Sometime before Xmas but no set date yet.

No on the truck still trying to figure that out. And it won't have a canopy. 2 radions with some type of arms for hanging.

Greenville, s.c. and thank you. I thought the same thing about the salt creep. Thanks for the idea.

not sure about that one. i found it on rc and thank you. now i just need dosers and a controller and im completely ready.

he def. had some high end equipment didn't he. he only had water in this setup for 3 weeks so its basically new. im pumped. cant wait to build this one. do you think my sro 3000 skimmer will work with this set up? now were talking about around 160 gallons total.
-
by the way. thats 8 hours one way. any takers with a truck? lol

That's what I was thinking. For some reason I've always battled very high nitrates, and I mean extremely high so I'm gonna try to fight from the very beginning this time.
-
When setting up a new tank from scratch with dry rock is it ok to use a bio pellet reactor from the start?
-
Do you think I should just use the swc skimmer instead?
-
If I could sell the reef savvy for what I got in it before the actual setup I will and go ahead and get the bigger rimless. But after having this reef savvy tank its pretty hard to look at different brands and a reef savvy that size is a little out of my league right now.

IWhy do you want or not want to use filter socks?
On my 150 I have now I have to change them every 3 days.kinda of a pain just looking for a simpler way I guess.
With a MP60 do you plan to have a sandbed?
Yes on the sand bed. I'm gonna try to do some trading to get two mp40.
Although you got the SRO 3K for a great price; you may not be happy with its performance; especially during the first 12 months. I see an upgrade in your future, in the neighborhood of 120g-180g.
Can you explain please. And no on the upgrade. That's the reason I went smaller. I work a lot and relying on my wife is not happening that's why I'm trying to automate this setup as much as possible. Don't get me wrong I understand a reef is a lot of upkeep but I think you understand what I'm trying to say. I would like to have about a 100 gallon rimless in the future that's why I built the stand 48" wide.
radion mounting brackets need ideas
in General Discussion
If radions cover 24x24, how would it be recommended to mount 2 radions on a 36x36x24? I have an idea but I need to see if the chassisshop where we used to get chassis work done will help me out . It would be chromoly and powdercoated. Any other ideas keep them coming please.
