  1. There definitely metric which is why I'm in a bad situation

I dont believe they sell these as replacement parts. I know people recieve cracked tanks often and red sea sends a replacement and you trash the old tank. Hoping to find something like that where I could get the fittings. Aside from that not sure what options I have.

There is absolutely no way this didn't leak for previous owner.

  2. So I picked up the red sea reefer 450 that was on here recently. Trying to setup today and it keeps leaking at the bulkhead. So after researching it appears that there are no nuts on the bulkhead assembly to pull the bulkheads tight so it had to be leaking. I know plenty of people have had tanks show up cracked and they send replacements. Hoping I can find someone who might have one laying around with the 3 bulkhead nuts on it. It doesn't appear you can but them and without those nuts I can't do anything. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Attached some pics to show the nuts are missing

  3. I just went through the same thing a few days ago where my ph in reactor was rising. So I turned the co2 up a bit. But a while back I had to go from 6.5 low point to 6.2 low point as I wasn't keeping up either. Basically same exact thing. Tom has taught me a tremendous amount on reactor control. He's brilliant when it comes to this stuff

  4. For what its worth, my ph low point on mine is 6.2 because I needed it to melt faster to keep up. I wouldn't do that yet in your case, but try the above first.

Reason for that is you say you're set at 6.4 but reactor ph stays at 6.5

That tells me its not enough time do to flow rate. Or if your using a carbon doser valve turn it down a tiny bit to allow more co2 in at a faster rate to get reactor ph down

  5. Trying to id this algae so I can get specific clean up crew. Its odd and different. Looks like mini leafs and occasional string of it. Its only in my chaeto very little and on sandbed in New frag tank I set up. But all tied to the main system.a839e194e5fda2281671a4344be1e2eb.jpg4258b8508cfb4015babe792c3688b422.jpg3f0905a282ba70b6cabefa34f749e66c.jpge9bbbe1a7d7c01fa3189cb9bad3d779b.jpg23b9e59e1ceeb3dd4dd733fdeba125f4.jpg

Is it these? If so, they are "Giant green hairy mushrooms". Base is green, tentacles are brownish color.

They never seem to stop growing as long as they have the space to do it and the water isn't a nightmare. The ones I have are the descendants of one of my first corals, from however long ago I joined WAMAS. It was a freebie, from I think rsavedra or Raf.

No, that's not even close but thank you

  7. I bought this a few years ago and don't remember what it was. Its as big as my hand 6 to 7 inches across. Multi color. Ive never seen anything like it and certainly never seen something this big. Its clearly like bounce etc meaning it doesn't reproduce on its own. So guess it has to be cut like the others. Been contemplating selling it as im not a mushroom keeper but honestly don't know its worth. Nor what it is. Any ideas8806c89d1440b58dc565dfd39063fec6.jpg8856698ae501bf5d1e5b30c2213b4031.jpg1b5cf42c09bc0677a4c5e50c3ceedeb3.jpgabb5cc0fdf9d7c6f09b875a54d08bada.jpg

My acros have always looked best and grown faster when nutrients were close to nsw.  I have never been able to keep them low without a carbon source. I tried when I switched tanks and things just went sideways. I started using a carbon source again shortly after and things rebounded once nutrients went back to normal. I added even more fish knowing it would mess things up and am finally getting numbers back to normal again. I really like how easy it is to control nutrient levels with a carbon source. If po4 roses i just add some stump remover and bump the carbon dose up if needed and it drops slowly and shaft let back to low numbers.
Also if your tanks mature then you should be able to go faster than the standard table online shows for a dose, it’s very conservative.

Do you have a good online link you recommend for dosing instruction using vodka

  9. I'm definitely considering it. I've never had a low nutrient system and ultimately I just want to try having low nitrates but I've never been able to achieve that. Even with 2 monster sulphur reactors I could never get below 15.

Also for the record I have auto water change set at 10 gallons a day.
