  1. It was pleasure meeting you too, Thanks for your advice and anwsering my questions.
  2. 1 RBTA from jstlsn + 2 Clownfish from Fazio92 =
  3. This tank is taking the place of the other freshwater riparium I used to have. Tank: 36''x15'x16'' acrylic by Seaclear. Light: 72 watt led 12''x6.5'' Filtration: 5 gallon macro algae rifugium, protein skimmer. Circulation: 2 powerheads 425mpg Koralia and mini Elite, 1 pump attached to surface skimmer. About 30 pounds dry rock and 20 pounds crashed corals(old school). That's it for now, I'll update for any changes in the future. The clean up crew added after Diatom bloom.
  4. 10 DKH = 178 PPM The test kit that the OP using reads in Part Per Million.
  5. I don't know what brand this led fixture, there is a guy from California that sells either DIY kit or he can make the light for you, I got his email and user name from Ebay.
  6. The total watts is 72 ( 18 x 3watt white and 6x 3watt blue). the unit it self is about 12''x 6.5'' but can be extended by adding another unit as shown in the picture.
  7. Is this enough lighting? do I need to add actinic T5?
  8. Some cars also have led position sensors in the ignition distributor like Nissan, I never used them on aquariums I just read diferent opinions on the web and want to give them a try..this is the one that I got, it is 72watts (3 watt x 24 led) I hope it will work.
  9. I will either get a water blaster or Eheim , I hope the water blaster is quite also. Thank you all.
  10. So the Eheim 1260 pump can be used either way? I will adjust the water level on both the display and the refugium so there will no over flow in case power goes off, but in case the drain get clogged the pump in the refugium will starve for water and I am trying to avoid that.
  11. I am working on a 40 gallon tank with 5 gallon refugium, the distance between the bottom of the refugium and the water level of the display tank is about 3 feet and a half. any suggestion on submersible pump that is quite and fail safe, like if the water level drops in the refugium the pump shut off, or do I need a controller for that?
  12. Thanks for the advice.
  13. Thanks, I 'll check them out.
  14. I want to keep mostly soft corals, and few frags of sps/lps, about 3'' above the tank depends on the intensity. I was just browsing on ebay and found different DIY kits but I don't know how much light I am going to need.
  15. How much light is needed for lighting a 40 gallon tank (36''L x 15'' x 16'' high)? the led comes in 3 watt 12,000K or 19,000K and eather 60 or 90 degree optic lens.
  16. The tank looks great. How large the Bicolor dottyback reach when fully grown? any other filtration beside the HOB filter?
  17. Thanks man, I still have that 40 breeder Riparium going, I throw in couple bettas in there and they are breeding now.
  18. I got that gravel from a brackish supplies vendor, he claimed that it came from brackish pools. and Thanks for the fish suggestions I'll stop by at the LFS to see if they have any available.
  19. Thanks, just like Der ABT said, its a hamster drinking bottle, I removed the metal ball inside the tube in order for it to work properly. it worked great so far.
  20. Just bought one of those bookshelf kit, it is 8''W x 24''L x 9''H. I used just the tank it self and removed the upper and lower frame. Filtration: -Hang on back refugium with about 3'' live sand and chaeto ( that is actually taller than the tank and not hanging). -Mini Elite power head. -Live rock Lighting: -The tank, 1x 31watt 10K T5 and 1x actinic. - The refugium, 1x 31 watt 6700K T5. Corals: -Zoanthids, green star polyps, pulsing xenia, purple clove polyps, frog spawn. Inverts: -2 emerald crabs, 2 pepermint shrimps, 5 blue hermit crabs, nerite snails... any recommendation for a fish that is less than 2''?
  21. I wish I have space for bigger tank, for now I'll just wait. anyway the tank turned into brackish Riparium after I sold all the live stock, then I decided to start another 6.6 gallon nano reef. Here is some picture of the brackish tank.
  22. You are very welcome, I am happy that you got them going well, just make sure that you have plenty of aiptasia ready if you want to keep breeding them, mine disapeared completely (the aiptasia and the berghia). I am back to saltwater again, but just a nano reef at this moment.
  23. Upgraded the light to 4 x 24 watt T5 current USA sundial fixture as suggested by trockafella, I 'll see how it goes and I may not get LED for this tank.
  24. Is there a reason for having low flow through the refugium? Great set up by the way.
  25. Tell me about it, I started with 5 gallon trying to breed brackish snails/shrimp larvae and here I am with clownfish, Zoa's and what not. The camera I am using is Kodak M341, but I still have the T5 fixture I haven't get any LED lights yet.
