Today I looked at my clownfish and I noticed some white dots all over his body. He hasnt been eating as well either. I looked on the internet and saw that other people was having the same problems. The title for this is called "Ich'. What is the best way to cure this? Please let me know

its a 12 gallon tank. And I pretty sure I will find something that need to be done

However, the rocks I gave you were live (in my tank for 3 years), and there should not have been much of a bloom. Did you add any "base rock" to your tank? Have you added any snails/crabs or fish? I know when we tested your nitrates they were pretty high at around 80-100. I would do regular water changes and test test test. Post a picture! Hello today I looked in my aquarium and saw that some of the sand was brown. I have recently added some coral(frogspawn,mushrooms,green polyps, and star polyps). Thanks to BowieReefer!!!So is this natural? Almost the whole left side of the tank is brown. Please help

ok when my water level dropped I added two bottles of deer park water in it. So now I know to do water changes with bottled water.

ok that would be great IM located near the DC side. When can I come pick it up? Also do I add this water every time I do a water change? I have been getting my water from the bath tub.

I have some more live rock in the back. What is RO water? this tank has been used before thats why it has the white stuff all around the tank. The person I brought it from had an upgraded light put in.

I have a 12 gallon nano cube. No I did not filter the water. i just put the salt mix in and waited 24 hrs. How do you filter the water? And thanks for helping me with the pictures.

Hello friends!! My tank is almost finished cycling the day it was be completely cycled it Oct 1. everything is going great the water has turned clear and little hair is growing on the live rocks. But the water level has dropped a little like 5% is that normal? Also I have figured out what I want as my clean up crew. I want a bubble tip anemone, cleaner shrimp and 2 snails. If anybody doesnt want their invertebrates or has a great deal I am willing to compromise. Also my hydrometer keeps on saying my gravity is (36 1.026). Did i put too much salt in the tank in the beginning? Will water changes lower this? How much salt is equal to one gallon?

Thanks everybody for the advice. Also this tank was used before and the last owner stopped using the tank for 2 months. There is a lot of old bacteria around the tank. He told me that this will help as well. I just Love marine life so much!!! I dont want to wait..but I have too :( While the tank is cycling I will just find something else to do like swim. Thanks Again

no I havent done any water changes. I thought you were supposed to wait until you tank finished cycling to start the change. And I have 10lb or live rock and 10lb of live sand

Well Im still working on my nitrogen cycle. I have had a cocktail shrimp in my tank for 6 days. The smell was so unbearable that it was coming through the house. So my mom made me take it out. When I took It out i went out and purchase this Nutrafin Cycle Product. I have been reading that this works and its quick. So now Im in my 4th day of using this product. The only thing it did was clear the water and got rid of the fish smell. So is that a good thing? Also while I was at the petstore I bought a mini ammonia test kit. This test kit is garbage and I will be getting my money back. Was it right to add the bacteria and shrimp together? Does this product really work in 1 week?

Ok the cocktail shrimp method. Does the shrimp need to have the shell? Also is there any products that I need to buy to help test the ammonia?

OK fellow aquarium lovers now I need help. Today I have completely added everything(rock,sand, and salt water). Now Im waiting on it to clear. In two days I will be ready to start the cycle. I have chosen the method of adding household ammonia into the tank. How much ammonia do I add? I do not have a test kit yet because I couldnt find one. Also I dont really think my mother will drive far just to find one. At what period of time do I add the clean up crew? Brandon

Hello again fellow aquarium lovers! I have a major question "How do you start the nitrogen cycle"? When the water clears up does the tank automatically starts the cycle? I now have live rock that has not been used in 2 months so I guessing its dead. Once I start the cycle will the rock come back alive? Also i have read things about adding a hardy fish? What is a hardy fish? I was told once the cycle have started in 2 weeks add a clean up crew. Also I have a nano aquarium does the pump have to stay on? Does both lights have to stay on or can I keep the blue light on. The white light has a fan to it and its kinda loud. How will I know when the nitrogen cycle is over? Is the nitrogen cycle when algae builds up?If,so do I need to change the water during this time? Thanks to anybody who can help
