  1. If you are a couple of months out, I will have a new 156g setup running with nothing much in it. I am just south of the beltway off the GW Parkway in Alexandria.
  2. It was the connector off of a power adaptor from one of my fans. The adapter was still plugged in. It was in the sump 6 hours. The current + the saltwater dissolved all of the metal on the connector in just a few hours. I bumped it in before I went to bed, and by the morning I had 90 gal of dead SPS.
  3. I once lost my whole SPS tank when I dropped a stupid copper connector in the sump. Go with lots of carbon and poly pads, God speed.
  4. I lost a school of 6 Bartlett Anthias to a Powder Blue. He killed them all and never let anothe fish of any type in the tank after. They are are that agressive.
  5. Thanks I'll give them a call
  6. I am about to start making some little odds and ends like probe holders and float swtiches for my new sump. Where do I find Weldon in this area? Bill
  7. Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I have a couple of questions. I have used ASM skimmers in another life.... A G1X and a G6. I did the recirc mod on the G1X but didn't see much of a difference. I am about to pick up a used G4+. I will definately do the mesh mod and the the gate valve. Is the recirc mod worth trying? I have and extra Sedra 3500 and Uniseals laying around, but I am curious what you guys might think now that you have a year of run-time on these skimmers?
  8. So sorry you have that stuff. I had it in my last 180 SPS reef. I can't remeber the name but it likes high light and low nutrient environments. Margarita snails ate it, not much else. I went with elevated ph using kalk, ozone, and a monster skimmer. eventually it faded. Don't know if it was something I did or it was just the passage of time. I makes green hair algea look like a blessing. If you give it more light, it looks exactly like cotton candy. Don't trade frags with anybody until it is really gone. That is how I got it in my tank Bill
