  2. ok the sea fans not such a big deal i was just naming invert that the mantis would eat and that are nice looking i think im going to pass up on getting coral just dont want to deal with the mantis re decorating and i dont feel the need for them in this tank. i also forgot to mention lighting. i was thinking on a light that would grow the macro and i could find a way to hang.
  3. ok im planning on setting up a mantis tank and have a lot of ideas and would love some feed back Equitment: tank size: 10 gallon (not drilled) shatter proof heater small pwer head/pump i need to find a way to hide all equitment maby a over flow in the corner w/ heater and pump? AGA plastic rim mod (remove upper plastic rim) stand: large cabnet that my parents were getting rid of (holding 150 lbs at the moment, but im not convinced so im going to add a couple wooden planks in the middle and in the corners. good? Live stock live rock: 1 large very porus rock (in one of the corners) or a few small rocks 1-3 lbs of rubble for my mantis to decorate with sand: 25 lbs (2 1/2") N. wennerae flower anemone? safe to stomopods? sea fans lots of macros (main filtration) sponges misc.: maby do a rock/foam wall in one corner but im dont know if the mantis will just go through it and when it hits glass just keep pounding on it. pvc burrow? maby a skimmer but i dont really want to do a sump nothing is set in stone but i would love some suggestions and comments so far i only have the stand but the tank size might change but im not doing anything larger than a 15 ~bryan~

  7. ive been researching mantis shrimp for the past month and a half (still researching) and i havent really gotten a good answer on this: what would be an ideal glass thickness for a N. wennerae or even better a standered tank that fits the glass thickness requirements. all info is appreciated
  8. the marine scene always seems to have 3-4 when ever im there ($14) some nice reds brown and white patterns
  9. try $23 for a electric blue hermit crab, apparently it was a "deep water Australian crab" i was new to saltwater so i believed him...till i got home and googled it. im just glad i didn't get it
