I believe the special cap for the Ph probe, not for the Salinity probe.

I leave the probe of my Pinpoint Salinity Monitor in my sump permanently. Note that the monitor is usually off, but this way I just have to flick it on to see how things are. The probe has started to get stuff encrusted on it. Is this a problem? Should I periodically pull it out and wash it? Note that other items in the sump, including any power cords submerged in in, are also starting to get encrusted... Advice? Alok

There appears to be a scientific consensus that global warming is occurring. The controversy is whether this warming is caused by human activity or is mostly due to natural forces. That debate is now mostly political, so I do not think one can find the scientific "truth", at least not without a deeper scientific background and more time than I am willing to spend :-) On a non-scientific basis, I am disturbed by the heavy politicalization of this issue by the pro side. On the other hand, it appears that there are a number of proposals by that side that seem reasonable and cost effective (along with some that appear to have very significant economic and quality of life issues). So, I think you'll have to make a non scientific decision...

Based on the thread posted above, it sounds like once you get over a certain number, it does not matter. Anyway, I will not panic and we'll see how the 8 get along!

I read that Chromis should be kept in odd numbers. I ordered 7 green chromis, but received 8! Should I pick up another one from a LFS, or am I ok with an even number in my tank? Alok

I won one and put it in my tank. However, I did a poor job fastening it to the rock, so it toppled over. It appears to have moved itself, and seems to be doing well. Am I imagining that it repositioned itself? Do I need to refasten it?

How do you fasten the gutter guard to the top of the overflow? Alok

I have a Glass Cages aquarium with their stock overflow. A fish went from my tank into the overflow and then down into my sump, where I retrieved it. Is this common? Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening in the future? Alok

We just did a group buy. It seemed to go smoothly, but I guess we should wait a few days before making that determination. But, SWF did not got out of there way to make a group buy easy. I specifically asked they to pack multiple orders of the same item separately, for easy distribution. They did not honor that request... However, I'll probably purchase from them again, in a month or so... Alok
