  1. Also, I would describe this situation over at the Bubble King Skimmer Club thread over at RC. http://www.reefcentral.org/forums/showpost.php?p=17449964&postcount=586

It appears a laguna/ askoll 1500 is a replacement pump that you should be able to get faster then a Red Dragon.

It sounds like they have a 3 year warranty and I bought it 3 years ago this MACNA. I will see how good this turns out.I sent my pump to the dealer I bought it from two day FED-EX so we will see! I hope it's not as bad as I hear on some of these fourms. at the time I wanted one of the best skimmers on the market and one that was small enough for the footprint. I seemed high, but after i picked it up and felt it I wanted it. It's a very heavy duty skimmer and seems overbuilt 2 things I like.

  2. Ok so I'm stuck! I came back from the beach and my mini bubble king 200 is not working. I took it apart and cleaned it. it had some calcium deposits on it,but it was not to bad! It had 3 missing teeth on the needle wheel but it should still work. the impeller seems ok as well. so What can I do. it will take weeks to get a new motor or impeller. but what if I do not need a impleler? a wast of 150-$180. I love this skimmer and need a very short one to go under my set-up(one reason I got this one). any ideas?

    Thanks Curtis

  3. I use it on days I'm not feeding them frozen but I agree with darkcirca, the packets are big for a small fish load. I actually just use a little bit at a time and put the packet in a ziploc bag to use another day.

wow my packets were small, but i tried the seaweed and the omnivore ones not the brine shrimp.

  4. I did try a couple of samples I got from Rik and then ordered some myself and liked it. I have a 240 display so it seemed that I needed allot of packets, but other than the small packs it was good. I'm a big feeder and want lots of variety in my reefs diets. i always mix up lots of cocktails of frozen and dry!

  5. Not to bash those guys but they like to keep there customers dumb, unlike some of the other LFS I've been to. Like BRK, the aqua co,Mr Coral etc those guys help you with good advice. I have spent $1,000's over the 20 years there and still do not get any bones or hand outs or even any respect, but for me no worry's just like tooth decay said no biggie.we are a bunch of weird peeps anyway. At least I do not hear Larry saying its more expensive because it comes from the "Deep water" (Good one). Those guys are Making all there Money from there Turf trust fertilizer they have the patent for, and it is the best stuff you can put on your lawn, its just very expensive.so if you want the best lawn thats the s#$T.

  6. [Not to mention the dumby ( not z germans) in the fish dept has no idea what anything is, which makes you wonder how he knows the prices..

Those guys are from holland. This is my local LFS in my area and I used to live like 10mins from them.I have bought from them for 20 years and they could care less if I come back as well  ... they are known for there fish selection, but QT is a must!

  7. Definitely check out Reef Chief. They are moving to a bigger facility and I think this weekend is their last at the old shop. There is a clearance sale going on this weekend to clear out a lot of stuff for their move but I'm not sure if there's a lot left.

+1 on reef chief he a good guy.also on the way back in richmond there is atlantis.I was on the way back from great wolf lodge during spring break last week and took the family and came home with 3 new tangs! Really nice healthy corals and fish. also he is the distribtor for Deltc.
