bbyatv April 10, 2008 April 10, 2008 I modified my Euro Reef RS 80 to me a recirculating skimmer. It works so much better it is hard to believe. It cranks baby. Here are some pics. Bruce
zobey April 10, 2008 April 10, 2008 I have the same skimmer and would love to do this but i don't understand the concept - any good links that (1) explain what the recirculation does for the skimmer compared to its normal operation and (2) exactly how to do it?
ErikS April 11, 2008 April 11, 2008 Nice job, looks good. I have the same skimmer and would love to do this but i don't understand the concept - any good links that (1) explain what the recirculation does for the skimmer compared to its normal operation and (2) exactly how to do it? Nutshell - it allows the skimmer to process the water over & over (recirculate) = longer contact time = more organics removed.

madmax7774 April 17, 2008 April 17, 2008 Nice Job Bruce. That will really make that skimmer crank. Did you do any mods to the needle-wheel, or the air intake at all? or was it just strictly a recirc mod only? Whats the flow rate on the smaller feed pump?
