lmeyer June 26, 2004 June 26, 2004 I am in the middle of re-establishing my tank. I have a 240 gallon former reef. I say former because I had a sea cucumber commit suicide in the return from the sump. Wiped out the whole system. Right after I was sent on travel by work for about 6 months. All that remained when I was done was a ton of algae. I've stripped the tank, put the rock in buckets to kill off the algae, and am about ready to start over. I plan on switching from Jaubert to a more traditional Berlin system, so I don't need the sand anymore. It is yours free if you come and get it. It is still in the tank, so you would have to help get it out. I'll try to get it out first, but with a four year old and two week old child, the odds aren't good. Also, I wouldn't object to some help if you have talent in arranging live rock. P.S. if anybody knows someone who removes scratches from inside acryllic tanks, I'm looking to hire someone for this. I put in some nasty scratches and am afraid to make it worse by trying to remove them myself.
Grav June 26, 2004 June 26, 2004 Can't help with the scratches, but would be happy to grab some sand, and help with the LR. Planning a 150 soon, so always looking to check out a big setup. I'm in fairfax, where are you? Would a week night next week be good?
Guest clownfish4 June 27, 2004 June 27, 2004 I wouldn't mind digging into some of that. Also, I love to aquascape, so I would be glad to help. Perhaps I should come at the same time as Grav so we can put our heads together?? That is if you two don't care.
lmeyer June 29, 2004 Author June 29, 2004 The more the merrier as long as its okay with Grav (since he replied first). I'm in Kensington, near the school where we have the meetings. Tuesday through Thursday of next week would work for me.
Grav June 30, 2004 June 30, 2004 Well of course it would be okay with me, however I'll be out of town all next week on some vacation time. Perhaps the following week? If you still need the help.
