jamesbuf June 25, 2006 June 25, 2006 I figured everyone is probably at the BRK social right now, so just please just respond when you guys get back. I don't know what to do. My newly puchased bubble tip anemone is committing suicide. He was lodged underneith a large rock, and when I rearranged my tank with newly purchased LR, I decided to flip the rock so he could get more some light. He's pulling himself apart!!!!!!! What the H-E-double hocky sticks. I don't know if anyone has had this happen before, but please shed some light. Could I have scewed the water parameters with rearranging the tank????

I'm not sure what you mean by pulling himself apart... Anemone's will split to propogate. I would leave him be... they will move on there own until they find a place that they are happy with. I'd make sure you have some alternating current flowing on it, and just see where he ends up. Mine has moved 4 times already in the past 2 weeks since I put him in the tank.
Gatortailale June 25, 2006 June 25, 2006 When BTA's split, they tend to go to a dark area of the tank, like under rocks, most people don't know this, get freaked and try to flip the rock. Next time just let it be. Hope it did split and now you have 2 healthy ones.
jamesbuf June 25, 2006 Author June 25, 2006 I already flipped the rock back over. He looked like he was still in the process so hopefully he will continue with the process. Its still one of the feakiest things I've ever seen in a fish tank. weird
