mutley29 June 17, 2006 June 17, 2006 I was wondering if anybody else was using Phytofeast to feed their systems. I picked up a bottle from MS a couple of weeks ago instead of DT's and so far i have been impressed with the look of my tank, lots of things seem to have perked up, now i'm not sure if it is down to this or that i have finally hit the nail on the head with keeping my tank at a happy medium, but one thing is for sure It doesn't smell anywhere near as bad as DT's Anyone else getting good or bad results Anton
flowerseller June 18, 2006 June 18, 2006 It really depends on how and what you plan to use the stuff for. I found from my experience that when I add food sources that are liquidy based algae's or even HMF's, I get a low grade algae's form on my rocks, glass, and equipment. I'm generally not fast to try and manually eradicate them because of my belief that it will reach a point making the removal process much easier. Nuisance algae's generally grow till they exhaust up the organic they require and then begin to decline. This is when you step in. This thinking has not let me down yet, but does depend on the strain encountered. My thinking is to feed the fish a food they have to "chew" ( spitting out and re eating multiple times), the rest of the inhabs get taken care of by that process alone.
