Caribbean Jake June 1, 2006 Share June 1, 2006 sounds like you have a plan, you can use the 20G long with baffles, make sure the baffles are secure with aquatic silicone and not more than 1" apart. Also leave enough space for a mini refugium between the baffles and the return pump. You can join the overflows, but if line gets clugged you may run into problems. You can either drill return or run over the edge,, there is no much difference unless you use an outside (DRY) return pump, then you need to drill, but it could be a point of leaks in the feature. the returm pump should be equal or greater to the amount of water run thru the overflow. for example if your overflow is 680GPH you want a MAG 7, and so it goes.
