Mr aqua 22 gallon silicone question

Recommended Posts

I finally received my mr aqua 22 gallon. I must say, the packaging was good enough for me not to be worried. The side panel silicone work was very clean however I am a little concerned about the bottom corners. I took some pictures and any insight would be great. I don't know if they did a bad job where I need to be concerned or whether It was just a little sloppy. Any help would be great.

Tough call judging from pics.  If you look through the bottom of the side panels, does the portion of the silicon seem between the glass look solid and free of bubbles? If you do see bubbles between the glass then definitely return it. If you don't see any, then it may just be a bit of sloppy finish on the bit silicon that squeezed out from between the panels.

If you have a fairly flat, water-safe area, you could also test fill it (I set mine on a yoga mat in my garage).  Start with just an inch or two of water depth first though. That way, if there is a leak you can just siphon the water out and return the tank... versus filling it up all the way right out of the gate, having a seam completely fail, and possibly not being able to return the now-broken tank.
