SunWyrm May 12, 2016 Share May 12, 2016 In the same vein as the Okeanos in the Mariana trench: the Nautilus is live streaming in British Columbia (and half an hour from the bottom right now!) http://www.nautiluslive.org/live/channel-2 I like listening to their team much better - they're more funny/interactive and you can send a question to their team! I've already heard a couple teachers sending questions on behalf of their classes also.

DaJMasta March 29, 2022 Share March 29, 2022 (edited) Been watching this stream a good bit in the last week, but there's already a thread! The same boat is doing roughly the same mission near Hawaii this week, then for three weeks shortly after that. Today they're an hour or two into a dive exploring a previously unexplored sea mount (still descending), and in recent days they've poked around from about 3km to 200m in depths at several sites, seeing shrimp, crabs, fish, cucumbers, corals, anemones, sponges - the whole gamut of strange stuff down there - and basically all deeper than any person can dive and deeper than photosynthetic organisms can grow well. The stream is a main camera, a secondary camera on a support ROV, the control room, and often some mapping or telemetry information, they also have a full set of water parameters that reads out on a separate page. They also do short highlight reels on youtube and have years of back-catalog videos, worth a look! https://nautiluslive.org/ They're on the bottom now, an already seeing things like this halosaur (the green laser dots are 10cm apart, so it's a good size too!)
