Jonathan's Reef April 30, 2016 Author Share April 30, 2016 I ended up with Marine Velvet and had to evacuate my fish to a QT tank for a 30 day copper treatment. The usual protocol for leaving the tank fishless is a suggested 9 weeks. Glad you caught it. Thanks for the tips. I'm counting down my days and hoping I can get all my parameters in line soon so my corals stop bleaching too. Lots of dead fish = unhappy corals + lots of algae, sadly. Sorry to hear about your loss. Ran into a similar issue in Feb and lost 14 of my 15 fish. Man, sorry to hear that too! Do you know what the culprit was? emissary April 30, 2016 Share April 30, 2016 Man, sorry to hear that too! Do you know what the culprit was? I'm not sure if it was Ich or Velvet, unfortunately. I've heard that the display tank should stay fallow for as little as 4 weeks to as much as 26 weeks (for velvet). I'm not sure there's a consensus out there as to what's "right."
