Jhead85 February 12, 2016 Share February 12, 2016 Just noticed my female clownfish has a slightly cloudy and slightly swollen eye. What could of cause this and should I do anything about it. She's been healthy for the last two years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
WheresTheReef February 13, 2016 Share February 13, 2016 Have you added any other fish recently? If so, could be several things such as flukes, bacterial infection etc. Could also just be an injury. Is the same swollen eye cloudy, or different eye?

Engin February 13, 2016 Share February 13, 2016 I recently had the same thing and I think it was just damage to the eye. It was cloudy for 4-5 days then cleared up on its own. Just keep "an eye" on it and try and make your water as pristine as possible for the next few days. Good luck!
WheresTheReef February 13, 2016 Share February 13, 2016 I agree. I would observe and see if it goes away on its own. Single eye is likely an injury. Might have a plan in place with a small HT if you end up having to treat with antibiotics.
monkiboy February 15, 2016 Share February 15, 2016 is it just one eye? If so, its probably just an eye trauma, like eric mentioned above. sometimes fish bang their head into a rock or something when they dart too quickly. you can dose epsom salt @ 1 tablespoon/5g to help relieve the swelling which is a reef-safe option (epsom salt is just magnesium sulfate). if that doesn't help, it might mean an infection has set in and you may need to use an antibiotic such as erythromycin. one other possibility is flukes have reached the eyes. below image shows what the eye looks like if that has happened. hope this helps and feel free to PM me if I can help further, sir.
