Tropical Fish World In Gaithersburg (Walnut Hill on 355)

Wow! I swung by TFW yesterday, and man, have they improved their saltwater selection. they had some SPS, i'm not sure if they were for sale or not, but ALL of the SW tanks were filled up and they had a great selection of stuff. it was very exciting, espcially compared to the sad offerings they had a few months ago.

their invert tanks could use a clean, but hey, that's not really a big deal. they had GSMs, a variety of triggers, firefish, eel, clowns, cardinals, damsels, a few tangs, snails, and MONSTER lobster/crab thing. i mean, softball sized with big hairy legs. it was scary. i mean, like 1000% improvement. it also looked like they might have a SW algae tank being set up or already running, there were customers at it for a while so i couldn't get in for a close look.

GREAT STUFF! Someone needs to go chat them up about WAMAS.

Jim is a great guy.

He was the first one to help CMAS when we formed it and was the speaker at the first meeting. He has also done an article in SeaScope on breeding flame angles. I stop in there every time I'm in Gburg.

I drop in there every week. I'll mentoin WAMAS to him again this afternoon when I swing by.

While I have some marine tanks, most of my fishroom is FW and Jim has been one of my regular customers for the past 7+ years.

he also has a love of FW rainbow fish. i've kept planted tanks for years and not too many folks keep anything more than "assorted rainbows" for $20 each, regardless of species.

there's also the bonus of *GREAT* dim sum next store to his shop.
