s2nhle September 21, 2015 September 21, 2015 (edited) I just found out that I have a leaking Avast kalk stirrer. I leaks at the bottom between acrylic tube and pvc base. i tried to seal it with weldon but it is not helps. i tested it with fresh water after applying weldon. it was no leak. but when I hooked back up with kalk. It is leaking again. Any suggestion on how to fix the leak. Thanks, Edited September 21, 2015 by s2nhle
ctenophore September 21, 2015 September 21, 2015 Hi, The best way to fix it is to wash it out with RO/DI water and let it dry thoroughly. Then apply a bead of weld-on #4052 to the inside seam at the bottom. It sounds like this is a pretty old model if it has a grey PVC base. If you want to send it in, we'd be happy to do this for you. Just send an email with your contact info on our website which will create a support ticket. Justin
s2nhle September 26, 2015 Author September 26, 2015 It is not the old one. It is the newer one with white base and white top. Can I use the weldon 16? Thanks,
ctenophore September 26, 2015 September 26, 2015 Yes, weldon 16 will work. Apply as described above, from the inside.
s2nhle September 28, 2015 Author September 28, 2015 Thank, will do that on the next schedule service. right now it is inside the bucket and I just pump the water out to the tank.
diver October 20, 2015 October 20, 2015 I just had the same happen to me. The kalk stirrer has been leak free for months and then boom, a slow leak of about a container full leaking every three days. The leak is from the bottom seal, like the one described above.
s2nhle October 26, 2015 Author October 26, 2015 Hi, i applied the weldon 16 that I had from inside and outside then waited overnight (6hrs - 8hrs). it is worked so far.
s2nhle February 18, 2016 Author February 18, 2016 It actually did not fix the problem, I had a slow leak from the bottom seal. Look like I have to send it in. Will create a ticket soon.
