fmentzel September 16, 2015 September 16, 2015 I have been doing saltwater for almost three years now and still feel like I am clueless. I am upgrading from a 55g tank to a 125g tank (I wanted the 6' long because I want my fish to have the full length to swim in and establish well separated territories). I am researching lighting fixtures and there doesn't seem to be much out there that is 6' long? Presenly I use a 48" 4-bulb T5HO fixture on my 55g tank. Any suggestion or advice is appreciated.
ridetheducati September 16, 2015 September 16, 2015 There are A LOT of options. The key question is what animals do you keep now and plan to keep in the future?
epleeds September 16, 2015 September 16, 2015 I have a 72" inch tank and use a 60" T5 fixture. It's perfect.
fmentzel September 16, 2015 Author September 16, 2015 Thanks guys. 20 and over: I must not know what to look for - I have not found many options online. I have Caulastrea, GSP, leathers, zoas, mushrooms, polyps, Blue ridge, and duncans. For fish, tomato clown, damsel, dottyback, blenny, fairy wrasse, sandsifting & citron gobys, sea stars, urchin and CUC of various hermits crabs and snails. For corals, hoping one day to be able to have more LPS and maybe one day some SPS. For fish, hoping to get a copper band to help with any aiptaisa. Oracle Reefer: What fixture manufacturer and model are you using please?
Incredible Corals September 16, 2015 September 16, 2015 I would go with 3 Evergrows for the best bang for your buck. After that I would go with 3 or 4 kessils
fmentzel September 17, 2015 Author September 17, 2015 Ok so you're talking like three Evergrow IT2061 24" LEDs?
