Update: the water got clearer each day but by Saturday the ammonia was through the roof and the few pices of Kenya tree that had been fine was suddenly droopy. I did a 200 gal water change and also drained and shop vac'd the sump, which had a lot of slime and sludge. There are still loose bits of slime clinging to the rocks but I've done my best to siphon it out. My engineer goby is still alive, hiding in the rocks but coming out from time to time. I'm going out of town for 3 weeks on Friday so I am going to have to just let it ride at some point and hope for the best.

Mixing up 200 gal. Had to skip the ro and use tap water...bring on the algae bloom.

A picture of the tank today. The water looks good but there are sludge bits on the rocks.

If there is a silver lining to this it's that it appears my blue clove polyp infestation my be over.
