madmax7774 March 24, 2006 March 24, 2006 I have a very large green brittle-star that with his legs extended is probably 14" across. He eat very well, and it not usually aggressive towards my fish. My tank is a 30 gallon hex, and it's just too small for him. I would like to trade him for a small fish or something. No damsels though. If you are interested, email me at john_hess@cox.net thanks.
Gatortailale March 24, 2006 March 24, 2006 Got a pic. Is he fuzzy on the legs. If so, then this is the kind that will eat fish. Be careful if any of you are to trade for it. I remember snapper had a few of these years ago & they ate his anthias & few other fish.
madmax7774 March 24, 2006 Author March 24, 2006 (edited) yes I found out about 5 minutes ago that he can and will eat fish if they are sick. This guy just ate a sick Harlequin sweetlips that was significantly larger than he was. Up until today, he has never bothered any other fish in the tank. I suspect he ate this one because it was in distress. I have kept him for around 4 months, and until today, he has been happily eating frozen squid and shrimp chunks. rioreef March 24, 2006 March 24, 2006 I have one about the same size and only has got a fish when it has died. Was nice because the fish never perish and lay in the front to be taken out, always behind the rocks. I have had this one for about 7 years now. Makes for a great show when I have kids visiting my house and I feed the "monster". Chris
