tap for connecting arline tubing into PVC

I was thinking that would be really easy to make a wetneck for my skimmer if I could just tap into my return line as a source of water. Anyone have the tap required to tap into PVC and put a T in the line for airline tubing?

Thanks,

Kyle

Wouldn't it depend upon the size fitting you use?

I don't know the size, but it's the same as size as those used in water filters for the home and on our RO/DI units. Home Depot sells a lot of quick disconnect attachments in this same size. Speed fitting I think they might be called????

A wet neck = keeping the riser in the skimmer wet. Two advantages, not sure which of the two is more beneficial. One benefit is that it keeps the crud off the riser = less maintainance. A second benefit is that the water provides a slipperier surface = bubbles rise faster & easier = better performance.

The single biggest trick is getting the skimmer level. Level = water flows evenly down the inside of the riser. If one side is dry & the other wet you will get abysmal performance.
