RicSG February 9, 2015 Share February 9, 2015 I am interested in buying something like this. Please let me know if this is safe for water and salt water mix. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/grd/4852263383.html http://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-Commercial-FG265500GRAY-55-Gallon-without/dp/B005KDB3TE/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1423515713&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=55+gal+drum+brute
madweazl February 9, 2015 Share February 9, 2015 Always a gamble when you dealing with a used product. Probably some sort of liner you could use to mitigate any potential problems.

Coral Hind February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 I had a brute trash can split on the side from top to bottom and spilled water everywhere so I do not recommend using them. I have used the food grade drums like the one in your craigslist ad with no issues.
Brian Ward February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 The ad says not for potable water so while that type of barrel is fine not sure that particular barrel is what you want.
Coral Hind February 10, 2015 Share February 10, 2015 It does say that, but right below it says, "Wine or Beer Making, Pickling...Portable Water" I think once you rinsed it out you would be fine.
RicSG February 10, 2015 Author Share February 10, 2015 thank you guys. I was thinking about the craiglist one too. If any of you guys have any tips on where can i get them locally or something better than what i am looking at will appreciate. I cannot afford water spill. This time around and my wife will put an end to this hobby. I need it for water storage and also salt mixing so looking at two to buy. Thank you again for any tips.
