Aquarium Technician (Fairfax City)

Due to continued growth and upcoming opportunities, DC Metro area's leading professional aquarium service provider seeks: Full Time Professional Aquarist

Ideal candidates will be excited to: 

Provide regular aquarium maintenance to our customers in their homes, businesses, and in institutions. 
Assist and lead on aquarium design, planning, delivery and installation.
Provide services to renovate aquaria of all sizes including total overhauls, and major projects such as lighting or filtration upgrades
Work in a collaborative team based environment 
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the, biology, science, service, low pressure sales and business aspects of the aquarium maintenance industry
Provide consultations to existing, new and potential new clients 
Manage Livestock and dry goods inventory

Retail sales

Candidate qualifications include:

A strong passion for aquariums, fish, coral, invertebrates and aquatic environments in general
Some background in the in the area: Marine Biology work / education, zoo or institutional aquarium work, aquarium store experience, professional aquarium maintenance OR extensive saltwater aquarium hobbyist experience.
The ability to lift and carry heavy buckets / jugs
Good verbal and written communication skills
Considerable experience

A very good driving record 
Attention to detail and a high energy level 
Professional attitude and appearance 
An unblemished criminal record
Ability to pass a Federal government background check and drug screening 

Basic computer / smartphone skills

"Pluses"

Plumbing, electrical, mechanical and other "trade" experience 
Retail pet industry experience 
Ability to do significant lifting (100+ pounds)
