Setting up quarantine tank

I have been told I need to add fish to my tank so here we go.

 

10 gallon tank

Heater

Whisper filter

Lid

Light vho

Piece of pipe to hide in

Ammonia tag

 

First question. I put a filter sleeve into my tank to build bacteria on it. How long does it need to seed before adding to tank.

 

2? I plan on using water from my tank to fill. Bad idea or not.

 

3? Should the cycle still happen if I do question 1 and 2.

 

4? I'm already stressing.

Water from your system is a good idea, but some live rock and maybe a little sand from the established system would work faster.

don't use water from your system. use new salt water. use a bacterial in a bottle product to kick start things and once established begin acclimation of new fish purchase. monitor ammonia multiple times a day throughout the first week especially and be diligent about water changes.
