Apcoleman January 24, 2014 Share January 24, 2014 Is anyone running something other than the IM skimmer on their Nuvo 16? The skimmer chambers are 2.75" x 3.23" which really limits what you can put back there.
trockafella January 24, 2014 Share January 24, 2014 I was using a eshopps nano skimmer, it fit fine.. I have it for sale if youre interested..
SaltLife January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 A lot of the guys running the IM tanks are using Tunze 9002. Tunze has a great reputation. A common mod for these skimmers are relocating the magnet and getting a third party collection cup. For more info on the Nuvo tanks and peoples builds check out this link: http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/324462-the-innovative-marine-nuvo-index-thread/
lutz123 January 27, 2014 Share January 27, 2014 I agree with the above recommendations, though to be honest, I prefer to run my Nuvo 16 without a skimmer. I haven't found it really necessary at all.
Apcoleman January 29, 2014 Author Share January 29, 2014 Decided to give the eshopp nano a shot. I'm running bio-pellets so a skimmer is necessary. So far it seems to be pretty stable and I'm still surprised I was able to jam it in there. I'm still going to be looking at other options down the road.
