I want to put a glass cover on my rimless tank.  Lost too many fish to jumping, so I need a top, but I want to keep the clean look of the rimless.  The tank has 10mm glass, and I can't find an acrylic clip that would work.  I found these stainless steel hooks that are used for an ADA cube garden tank.  Do you think these would be safe on a saltwater tank?  The clips would rest about 1.5-2" above the water level.

Thank You.

You could use them, but I would use glass or acrylic or cover the tank...make a screen..I know it doesn't look as good but you need the oxygenation...

I wanted to do glass because my tank is 48" x 24".  My plan was to use two pieces of glass, and have two finger holes drilled in the front panel to allow me to easily move it.  This way I would have easier access to my tank.  I just thought a 4'x2' window screen would be a pain to constantly take on and off.  Is a screen top better than glass?

That should be WOULDN'T use glass or acrylic...for the fact you need oxygen exchange and covering your tank inhibits that...

So yes, a screen is much better, plus it will be lighter than glass...how hard do you think it will be to keep moving a piece of glass or acrylic on and off? The screen will be alot easier, you could make it in 2 parts if you really wanted to...

Don't make it one big screen. On my 48x36 tank I have four screens. Each side has a smaller 8" or so screen that I can pull out easily to feed and do some minor maintenance through. My tank does have a middle cross brace. Works like a champ!
