rebekwl November 14, 2013 Share November 14, 2013 I did not see the wrasse yesterday or the day before, he's usually right out in the open. Today he is out but I noticed he was hiding behind a rock which is so not like him. After a closer look I see that his mouth is stuck open, like he has lock jaw, and he has a few "puffy" white spots on his body and his fins. Does anyone know what this might be and if it's treatable? Any help will be appreciated, I definitely want to get him out of there and medicated ASAP if there's something out there that can help him. Thanks! SpideyFish November 14, 2013 Share November 14, 2013 Yes it is treatable, get some anti bacterial/fungus meds and move him to a hospital tank.

Coral Hind November 15, 2013 Share November 15, 2013 I use API Erythromycin or Furan2 to treat cotton mouth like that. Try one and then if it doesn't work try the other. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4615+4629+16818&pcatid=16818 http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4615+4629+4827&pcatid=4827

SpideyFish November 15, 2013 Share November 15, 2013 Yea Furan -2 should take care of it, if you can't find that at LFS look for anything that treat fungus.

rebekwl November 15, 2013 Author Share November 15, 2013 Ok so I can't catch this guy. He's really lethargic and looks much worse today, but still quick enough to avoid me. I assume I can't put this stuff in the reef tank?
Coral Hind November 16, 2013 Share November 16, 2013 No, don't use it in your display tank, not reef safe.
