I'm thinking of getting a SMALL yellow tang for algae control in my 34 gallon Red Sea Max frag tank. How long can I keep this fish in this tank semi comfortable? Are there any other small algae eaters (colorful) that I should consider instead? There will only be 2 total fish in this frag tank. It's bare bottom, but has about 25-35lbs of live rock. smallreef October 25, 2013 Share October 25, 2013 I think most of the bristle tooth tangs would be fine also, and depending on how small could easily be okay for 2 years, depending on their growth obviously..but the one I've had in my 50g for the last few months hasn't even grown an inch yet....
