Red slim HELP!

I keep getting red slim on my rocks and sand bed. My water parameters are good and do water chances weekly and feed every other day. Had 2 conchs but lost one so down to one. Now they help keep it off the sand but how to keep it off the rocks. This stuff sucks!!!

Reduce your light cycle!

I also control it by doing a 36-48 hours total light out. Works well for me. Good luck

And now I noticed my pink polys are disconnecting from the rock. Is this from the red slim too?

From what I read and other people, Red slime usually cause by phosphate (forgot to mention, I also run phosban reactor)

The red slime can suffocate your corals too. Reducing light will starve algae!

 

Oh! try changing feeding. Instead of feed every other day, feed smaller portion everyday.I am guessing maybe you feed too much @ once and your fish did not eat all. Good luck...Hope someone else can chime in for more advices

+1 I dealt with red slime in my 150 and I came to the conclusion it was from a lack of flow and phosphates.
