Spelter March 20, 2013 Share March 20, 2013 I usually start making water for my water change on Wednesday evening, but we just has a major (54") water main break that services my area. Will the repair work affect water quality, service was never interrupted. I have a TDS meter and RO/DI water at 1 currently.

smallreef March 20, 2013 Share March 20, 2013 Wow....that's crazy...like I said if you can wait I would...it's also going to really kill your output....

jaddc March 20, 2013 Share March 20, 2013 My guess is that the water would sap your first sedimentation filter. I'd wait or be prepared to change out the filters a bit earlier this time around. J

Dan March 20, 2013 Share March 20, 2013 also watch our for additional chlorine. usually with a large break, they will disinfect the pipes as they are installed by swabbing with chlorine. the treatment plant might also increase dosing of chlorine as well to make sure everything is safe to drink.
