Salt price for 200G bucket

Folks,

Finally it happened. Petsmart.com has started adding

an overweight surcharge to ship the salt.

Looks like the price per container will be close to 50 bucks.

 

What are the prices around local.

Thatpetplace.com has it for 35 bucks. Not too far a drive,

assuming someone picks up over 3 or 4 buckets to stock up.

Locally- Congressional aquarium is the cheapest- $10/ 50 gallon bag.  If you get on their mailing list, they frequently send 10% off coupons for $20 purchase.

Aquarium Center usually has instant ocean for $37.99 for the 200 gallon buckets.

For those that have yet to see them...for some reason Marineland (owner of Aq. Systems) has thought it would be a good idea to change the bucket type, which has made the bucket good for only 160 gallons versus 200. The best retail is generally $32 without a sale coupon, etc.

So we basically get less salt for just about the same

money.

 

This is a dirty ploy that most manufacturers resort to.

The last time I was in Tropical Lagoon in Silver Spring they had

200g IO for $50.00.

They still had a few of the 200g buckets left but that was early in this month.
